How to transfer money from Metrobank to Shopee E-Wallet

InstaPay is an electronic fund transfer (EFT) service where you can transfer money electronically and make the funds available to the recipient instantly. With InstaPay, you can transfer funds between accounts of participating BSP-supervised banks and non-bank e-money issuers in the Philippines and the amount will be received in real-time. Metropolitan Bank of the Philippines or Metrobank, a banking institution and Shopee Pay, an e-wallet for Shopee users, are two participants that can used InstaPay for fund transfer.

To send money via InstaPay, customers need to access their bank’s or e-money issuer’s mobile app or internet banking facility, choose to send to another institution via InstaPay, and provide the required details. For Metrobank clients, you can use the Metrobank mobile app to access Fund Transfer feature to send money to other banks. Using InstaPay, you can transfer up to ₱50, 000 per day.

And for this guide, below is the step-by-step guide on how to send money from your Metrobank account to your Shopee e-wallet or any Shopee Pay accounts. 

If you do not have Metrobank Mobile Banking app yet, you can download it using Google Play for Android phones or download in the Apple Store for iPhone and iPad users.

Metrobank to Shopee Pay – Fund Transfer

  1. Upon login, tap the left menu and select TRANSFER TO OTHER BANK.
  2. Select InstaPay for real-time fund transfer.
  3. If the receiver’s account details is not yet enrolled, tap TRANSFER button.
  4. Under the Bank field, select the receiver’s bank.
  5. Browse the list and choose SHOPEEPAY.
  6. Enter the receiver’s ShopeePay Account Number (or Mobile Number), Account Name, email address and purpose of transfer. And press NEXT button.
  7. Select the source account – your Metrobank account – from which the amount will be deducted.
  8. Enter the amount to send and tap NEXT button.
  9. Review details you have entered and once confirmed, click SUBMIT button.
  10. Enter the OTP that was sent to your registered mobile number and press SUBMIT button.
  11. Transaction is now in process. Check your ShopeePay account or receiver’s account to verify if the amount is successfully transferred.
