How to change transaction limit of your BDO Debit Card

Online Banking makes transactions easy and convenient to use. But, let’s remind ourselves to be cautious on what to click so you will not be a victim of hacking or phishing.

Online security must be your priority while doing any online transaction. For BDO, security features are available such as setting a transaction limit and lock/unlock debit or credit card.

This feature will give you more control over the Debit Card Security. It will enable you to lock or unlock your card, adjust maximum transaction limits for ATM withdrawals, online or in-store purchases and more.

  • Locking your card prevents BDO Debit Card (including Kabayan Savings and Junior Savers) from being used for transactions at ATMs, physical card terminals (POS), and from making online purchases and payments.
  • Locking your Debit Card will only prevent card-based transactions. Thus, you can continue to pay bills, send money, reload mobile phone and cash card, and perform other transactions via BDO Online, Mobile, Phone Banking.
  • You may lock / unlock your card anytime, anywhere, at your convenience.
  • Changing the limits of your BDO Debit Card allows you to set your own maximum transaction limit using your card. You may change the daily limits for the following transactions:
    • ATM Withdrawal (and Fund Transfer Transactions) – cash withdrawal and fund transfer transaction from your account to other BDO accounts done via BDO ATM.
    • PIN Based Purchase – in-store purchases that require PIN to be keyed-in on the Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal.
    • No PIN Purchase2– e-commerce or online purchases and in-store purchases that require the cardholder’s signature on the charge slip.
  • The limit you set for your BDO Debit Card will automatically be updated real-time. You may transact (withdraw or purchase) until you reach your set limit, but the allowable transaction/s will still be dependent on your account’s available balance.
  • You may change the transaction limits anytime and anywhere, at your convenience.
  • The transaction limit you have set will not expire.
  • The Overseas Activation feature enables/disables the use of your BDO Debit Card for overseas transactions by clicking the switch found under More Options. It is the first entry labeled as “Transactions processed overseas”.
  • Overseas Transactions included are ATM and Point-of-Sale (POS) transactions done overseas and Online transactions via websites and platforms that process payments outside the Philippines.

You can change these settings using your BDO online account via BDO Mobile app or BDO Online Banking website.
