On the evening of December 26, 2016, the peaceful and idyllic province of Marinduque was hit by a devastating typhoon known as Nina. The violent winds and tumultuous rain showers swept across the island, leaving nothing but destruction and suffering in its wake. The unfortunate residents of Marinduque bore the brunt of the typhoon and lost their homes, belongings, and even their loved ones. As they attempted to pick up the pieces and rebuild, they found themselves struggling with the lack of resources and limited financial aid available to them.
In times of crisis, it is the compassion and generosity of others that can make all the difference. Batch 99, a group composed of caring and thoughtful individuals, understood the plight of the people of Marinduque and knew that they had to act fast to help alleviate their suffering. They decided to raise funds to provide selected individuals with the necessary materials, such as “yero,” to start rebuilding their homes. Through their initiative and selflessness, Batch 99 was able to bring hope and comfort to the people of Marinduque and show them that they are not alone in their struggle.
